Brief Biography (English)
Dr Gerrit Kornelius currently works at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Pretoria, and as an independent air quality consultant. He does research on the measurement of emissions and of ambient air quality. He is specialised in air quality management since 1980, both academically and with a number of industries in South Africa. Environmental manager for a major petrochemical facility 1998-2005; corporate consultant on air quality and greenhouse gas policy 2005-7. Involved in the setting of South African ambient air quality standards (2006-8) and emission standards (2008-10). Consultant to local and international firms on air quality management since 1985.
