Carolina Koornhof is currently the Executive Director: Finance and Student Administration at the University of Pretoria. Previously she was Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences for two terms at the same University. Her field of research is Accounting and specifically Reporting, and Accounting Theory and she has published in the field. She has supervised master dissertations and doctoral theses and has acted as an external examiner for other universities. She is a member of Die Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns. She is a Chartered Accountant (CA) (SA) registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. She is a fellow of the British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is also a Registered Auditor (RA).
