Brief Biography (English)

Hester Klopper is Deputy Vice Chancellor of Strategy and Internationalisation at Stellenbosch University (SU). She is an internationally recognised academic and professional leader with extensive networks in global health, policy, nursing and health care. She was the CEO of Forum for University Nursing Deans in South Africa (FUNDISA). She was an extraordinary professor at North-West University, as well as at the University of the Western Cape, where she was dean of the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences. She coordinates a national programme funded by National Research Foundation (NRF) that develops the capacity of post-doctoral fellows to establish research programmes. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf). She is the editor-in-chief of  International Journal of Africa Nursing Sciences (IJANS).
