Brief Biography (English)
Prof Andre Pascal Kengne is an internist, chronic diseases epidemiologist. He is the current Director of the Non-Communicable Diseases Research Unit at the South African Medical Research Council and holds conjoint appointments in the Department of Medicine at the University of Cape Town, and in the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Science at Stellenbosch University. His areas of research include chronic disease epidemiology and prevention in developing countries, decision making in diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. He is co-author of over numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and monographs on chronic diseases in Africa and at the global level.
