Dr Jeninah Karungi is an Associate Professor in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Makerere University. She has been actively involved in academics and research for the last 23 years with a specialty in Crop Entomology and Applied Ecological research in agro-ecosystems. She has supervised 20 graduate students to successful completion, and 16 more are currently under her tutelage at different levels in their studies and is a mentor for many. She also serves as an external examiner for several universities in the region, and as a scientific reviewer/editor to many renowned peer-reviewed journals. Dr Karungi served a five-year tenure as a Young Affiliate Fellow of the World Academy of Science (TWAS) and is a fellow of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS), and was a founding member of the Uganda National Young Academy (UNYA). She is a member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). She is married with four children.
