Prof Kadhila is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Namibia and the Head of Zero Emissions Research Initiatives (ZERI) Division in the Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MRC). Prof Kadhila is Currently the Coordinator of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development/Southern Africa Network for Biosciences (NEPAD/SANBio) Mushroom Node that is mandated to coordinate the mushroom research and related activities in all the NEPAD/SANBio member states. She is an academic with interests in Mycology, Microbiology, Molecular biology, Agronomy, and horticulture. Her main research interest is in Mycology, especially on the Basidiomycetes, where most of her research is on the Namibian indigenous mushrooms with emphasis on edible and those with medicinal significance, domestication of Namibian indigenous mushrooms, value addition of edible and medicinal mushrooms. Promotion of mushroom production, product development, and consumption in Namibia and NEPAD/SANBio member states. The ZERI Division is responsible for training farmers and individuals on mushroom cultivation and post-harvest in Namibia and beyond.
