Johan Jordaan is a Doctor in Organic Chemistry, at the Chemical Resource Beneficiation (CRB) Department at the North-West University in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The CRB's focus is to add value to the national chemical and mineral resource base which is located in the Southern Gauteng and North-West provinces of South Africa.

Dr Jordaan's work entails the Management of the laboratory for analytical services of which: mass spectrometry (APCI-MS, ESI-MS, MALDI), NMR, IR, GC-MS (1D and 2D), SC-XRD (D8 Quest), UV, Elemental Analysis, HPLC, Thermal analysis (TGA, DSC) which is combined with an IR and GCMS system and an EPR instrument.

His research interests include working on the design of organometallic precatalyst for application in metathesis, polymers.
