Afam Jideani is a Professor of Food Science and Technology at the University of Venda, South Africa. He obtained his PhD from the University of Leeds, UK, in 1994. Prof Jideani became a Full Professor (1999) in Nigeria before becoming the Director of Research and Development at the National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC) Botswana (2006).
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST). Prof Jideani is also a Professional Member of the following scientific bodies: (i) South African Association for Food Technologists (SAAFoST), (ii) American Association of Cereal Chemists International (AACCI), (iii) Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), USA, and (iv) the ISEKI Food Association (IFA).
