Brief Biography (English)
Professor Elbert Jansen van Rensburg is employed as an academic at the University of Limpopo in Microbiology. My research interests are in yeast biodiversity with an emphasis on industrially important yeasts. The focus is on the isolation, screening and optimisation of the isolated yeasts from various samples. Currently, the focus is on sugar alcohols concentrating on arabitol and xylitol with a focus to produce these metabolites from agricultural waste material or grasses.
