Brief Biography (English)
Dr Astrid Jankielsohn has been employed as Senior Researcher (Entomology) at the Agricultural Research Council-Small Grains in Bethlehem, South Africa since June 2003.
She is an experienced Insect Ecologist and uses this experience to solve problems in agricultural ecosystems using lessons learned from nature. Dr Jankielsohn has experience in biomonitoring of a variety of natural and artificial ecosystems.
Her current main research focus is on the ecology and distribution of Russian Wheat Aphid biotypes in wheat production areas in South Africa (since April 2006) and biomonitoring of dung beetle assemblages as bioindicators of ecosystem health in agricultural systems.
