Prof Chukwujindu Iwegbue's research interest covers analytical methods development and applications of analytical chemistry in transdisciplinary study of the complex linkage between human activities, the transformation of organic matters and fate of contaminants in the environment with special emphasis on emerging contaminants as well as studies concerning safety evaluation of foods, drugs, cosmetics, and other personal care products. Professor Iwegbue was the State/Community Liaison Officer for the Niger Delta Biodiversity Project (a GEF-UNDP funded project), and currently serving as Member of the Board for National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Federal Ministry of Environment. Professor Iwegbue is a member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria, and the Society for Testing Laboratory Analysts of Nigeria and the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria. He has also served the Delta State University Branch of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as the Welfare Officer and Secretary. Professor Iwegbue has 13 PhD and 10 MSc students under his supervision.
