Dr Kalu Okereke Igwe is an experienced and vibrant research biochemist, a Senior Lecturer in the Biochemistry Department of the Federal University of Technology Owerri with a specialisation in Nutrition and Toxicology. He is interested in Environmental health and food security in developing countries. He has published several research articles, and currently working on maternal health/Nutrition and early childhood care, more specifically his work examines the toxic effects of industrial pollutants which becomes more concentrated as they make their way up the food chain through the soil, and air, water, and food crops. He is a member of several professional associations including the Nigerian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB), Nutritional Society of Nigeria (NSN), and others. Dr Igwe is currently an academic staff in the department of biochemistry, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) Imo state Nigeria. He has supervised several Undergraduate and Post-graduate researches.
