Brief Biography (English) Dr Tobore Igbe received his BTech and MTech degrees from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria in 2010 and 2015 respectively. He obtained his PhD degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. During his PhD program, he worked in the human body communication lab, minimal invasive and surgical centre (Biomedical group). His research was focused on prediabetes diagnosis with physiological signals (ECG & EEG), a preventive approach to curbing the growing trend of diabetes around the world. Also, he works with CGM for type 1 and type 2 diabetes intervention. Dr Igbe is currently a postdoctoral research associate at the centre for diabetes technology, department of psychiatry and neurobehavioural sciences, University of Virginia, United States. He is a member of the American diabetes association, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and black STEM PhD. His research interest includes machine learning, data mining, and pattern recognition. He has served as a reviewer for top journals in Elsevier and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) journals and has more than 40 publications. He has a strong background in software engineering, programming, and application development. He is a full-stack developer and has participated in developing software applications in the industry as well as in academics using Java, Python, PHP, and so on.
