Brief Biography (English)

Dr. Mohamed Gamal Hussien is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Power and Machines Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tanta University, Egypt. He has authored and coauthored scientific papers in both international conferences and high-quality SCI journals.

Dr. Mohamed Gamal Hussien is currently an IEEE Senior Member. He is a member of the IEEE-IES Electric Machines Technical Committee and the IEEE-IES Technical Committee on Renewable Energy Systems. He has received the Best Paper award twice in both the periods (2019–2020) and also (2022-2023) from the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion. He has also received the award of Best Paper from IEEE IAS GUCON 2021 conference. He is a Reviewer for IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS, and IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER ELECTRONICS.

 

Dr. Mohamed Gamal Hussien is currently the Chair of the Motor Drives Sub-committee of the IEEE IES Power Electronics Technical Committee (PETC). He is an Editor for the Scientific Reports Journal. He is also an Academic Editor for the PLOS ONE Journal. In addition, He is an Academic Editor for the IET Electrical Systems in Transportation Journal. Moreover, He is the Commissioning Editor for the International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems journal. Furthermore, He has served as a Session Chair and a member of the Technical Program Committee for the 12th International Conference on Renewable Power Generation (IET RPG 2023). He has been also an Associate Editor for the IET Renewable Power Generation Journal.

 His research interests are in Renewable Energy Systems, Power Electronics, Smart Grids, Microgrids, Electric Vehicles, Electric Drives, Electric Machines, Advanced Control Systems, Distributed Generators, and Electric Traction.
