Professor Arthur Robert Wilson Hughes is an emeritus Professor of The School of Chemistry and Physics, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Durban, South Africa. He was a Director of AMIGO Antarctic programme 1992-2010. National Committees: he was a chair of Committee on Space Research (COSPAR), a chair of Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP), member of International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA) and member of International Astronomical Union (IAU).
