Professor Sheryl Hendriks is the Director of the Natural Resources Institute, University of Greenwich, United Kingdom. Professor Hendriks is a food security policy expert with extensive experience in policy analysis and programme design. She is actively engaged in high-level global food security policy think tanks and panels and influential in food security and nutrition policy circles in Africa. Her research and teaching focus on food security and nutrition policy analysis and monitoring and evaluation of food security at the household, national, and global information system level. She is co-author of a number of consensus studies related to food security, including eight reports published during two terms on the UN Committee on World Food Security’s High-Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition, four reports published while a member of the Montpellier Malabo Panel and as lead author for the InterAcademy Partnership on Food and Nutrition Security and Agriculture Africa regional report and Global Synthesis Report. She is an Associate Editor for BioMedical Central’s Public Health journal. She has published 54 accredited journal papers, edited four books, and published 29 book chapters.
