Dr Emna Harigua is a researcher at Pasteur Institute of Tunis (Institut Pasteur de Tunis). She is a Bioinformatician and a Data Scientist. Her main research focus is Computer-Aided Drug Discovery and Design. She has a multi-disciplinary profile with an engineering degree in “Analytical Chemistry & Instrumentation” and a master degree in “Information Processing & Complexity of the Alive”. She then did her PhD at Institut Pasteur in Paris in the field of Structural Bioinformatics. After the PhD thesis defense in 2016, she joined the Laboratory of Molecular Epidemiology and Experimental Pathology at Institut Pasteur de Tunis, where she was focusing on developing cutting-edge techniques in Structural Bioinformatics to solve research questions on Infectious Diseases. Since 2019, she is working on implementing Artificial Intelligence-based approaches in Drug Discovery and she recenlty leveraged a dedicated fund to establish her own research team.
Dr Harigua also launched her own startup project AI4HD (2202) to apply her expertise in research and Artificial Intelligence to the field of digital diagnosis and eHealth. She is an International Fellow of the Unesco-L’Oreal « For Women In Science » programme, edition 2012. She is a TechWomen fellow since 2022, and She has been nominated for teh "Ten Outsatnding Young Persons" of the JCI competition on 2022.
