Professor Gasto Frumence is an Associate Professor (Health System management) at the Department of development Studies, School of Public Health and Social Sciences, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). He holds PhD in Public Health from Umea University (Sweden). He has a wide knowledge of the health management and planning; health systems focusing more on local governance structure, decentralised health services and human Resources for Health in Tanzania. Prof Frumence also has a wide experience of research in Health systems, Management, Leadership and governance in Health, Human Resource for Health including Community Health Workers. Other research areas include: Public Private partnership in Health, Social Capital and Health, HIV/AIDS, Elderly Health, Intimate partner Violence, Antimicrobial use and Resistance and policy analysis. He has worked as a consultant with several agencies and institutions including United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), PATH, and Ministry of Health, President Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG) and Local Government Training Institute (LGTI).
