Dr Subuola Fasoyiro is a food scientist at the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Ibadan, Nigeria. She specializes in the area of Post-harvest Technology and Food Safety. Dr Fasoyiro graduated from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria having her Bachelor’s degree honours in Food Science and Technology in 1994. She received her MSc and PhD degrees from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1997 and 2004 respectively. She is currently a Senior Research fellow in the Product Development Programme. She has supervised and mentored numerous undergraduate students. She has been awarded a number of fellowships and grants which include Netherlands Fellowship, Borlaug Women-in-Science fellowship, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)/ Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) and International Foundation For Science (IFS) research grants. Dr Fasoyiro has published widely in refereed local and international journals and conference proceedings. Her research work has contributed to the improvement of the nutritional status of the Nigerian populace especially among the urban and rural poor resource people. She is an ad-hoc journal reviewer for some local and international food journals which include Ife Journal of Agriculture (Nigeria), Journal of Food Processing and Preservation (USA) and African Journal of Food Science (Kenya). She is an African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) fellow for year 2010. She is currently an African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) mentor.
