My love for animals informed my choice of a higher degree of education. Firstly, I matriculated to study Fisheries and Wildlife at the Federal University of Technology, Akure in Ondo State Nigeria for a B.Sc degree. During my third year, I transferred to study Veterinary Medicine at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria where I completed a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. My love for research prompted me to pursue an MVSc degree which involved the use of Molecular tools for the study of diseases in animals, including Babesia in livestock in Nigeria. I enrolled for a PhD with a focus on the multidisciplinary field of natural product study with application to animal health. As a postdoctoral fellow, I am still involved in several aspects of studies on the use of natural products along with a wide diversity of collaborators in different fields such as chemists, botanist, biochemists, toxicologists, etc with application to health (human, animal, and plant).
