Dr Nsikak-Abasi A. Etim obtained his Bachelor of Agriculture (BAgric)(First Class Honours) degree in 1999 and was the Best Graduating Student from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Uyo, in Nigeria. In 2002 he obtained his Master of Science (MSc) degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan, in Nigeria. Dr Etim obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Resource and Environmental Economics from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, in Nigeria in 2007.
He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and has 20 years Teaching, Research and Mentoring experience at the university. His Research areas are Development, Resource and Environmental Economics with the focus on poverty and efficiency issues in the contexts of production and environment.
Dr Etim has distinguished himself as an Erudite Scholar and a Prolific Writer. He has Authored eighty (80) full-length peer-reviewed Scientific Articles in reputable national and international Journals and 2 Book Chapters with citations of more than 574 ( h-index 14 and i10-index 21).
Dr Etim is a widely traveled Scholar whose Research has won him several Awards, Scholarships and Grants from many international organizations, including the Carnegie Corporation of New York; the European Commission; Agriculture For Food Security(AgriFos) 2030; the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO); the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA); the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
He has also been Invited and has Presented Reviewed Papers at several Conferences, Workshops and Symposia in many countries including Morocco, Finland, United Arab Emirates, Ghana, Belgium, Kenya, South Africa and Sweden among others.
