Dr NseAbasi Etim holds a PhD degree in Animal Physiology from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Nigeria, with a GPA of 5.00. She Lectures Animal Science at the Akwa Ibom State University in Nigeria.
Dr Etim Belongs to many professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, the British Society of Animal Science, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World, and The New York Academy of Sciences, among others.
She has Conducted several ground-breaking types of Research which have won several Awards in the UK, Sri Lanka, India and Ghana. Dr Etim has Published over 40 Articles in reputable Journals and Referred Conference Proceedings.
She is not just a Scientist by her Research and Discoveries, but she has also inspired several students in different countries of the world to love and choose STEM by volunteering as a Mentor in Next Generation Scholars, 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures, STEM U and the Junior Academy Mentoring Programs presented by Global STEM Alliance of New York Academy of Sciences.
Dr Etim also Mentored in the Commonwealth Women Mentorship Programme for African Women. She has Volunteered online during lockdown to fight COVID-19 by serving as a Mentor in AfricaVsVirus Challenge organized by the African Development Bank. Her efforts to help contain the COVID-19 pandemic led to her Certification as COVID-19 Immunity Ambassador by the Muhammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates.
Dr Etim has served as a two-time Judge during the Annual Meetings of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She has also volunteered as a Judge for the Technovation Girls Challenge, 2019, and Conrad 2020 Innovation Challenge.
Dr Etim is also a Member of the Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) National Fellowship Competition Committee. Her great passion for, and Contributions to science, led to her selection as Future Leader, 2017 at the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum in Kyoto, Japan. She is an Ambassador of The New York Academy of Sciences.
Dr Etim was a Nigerian Delegate to the Evidence-Informed Policy Making Seminar in Pretoria, South Africa. She was also selected to Participate in the 74th UN General Assembly in New York, USA; the World Science Forum in Budapest, Hungary, and the World Forum for Women in Science in Brazil. Dr Etim was also pre-selected for the Blue Book Traineeship with the European Commission for the October 2019 session, an opportunity to gain hands-on experience on European Union policy-making in a multi-cultural environment.
