Engineer Ubong Essien is a PhD researcher at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF), Morocco, and a Lecturer in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria. He holds MEng Degree in Production Engineering and a BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering. His a Founding Member of the Global Engineering Network (GEN), a member of the Nigerian Metallurgical Society and a Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) registered Engineer. Currently, on the ASRIC-UEMF PhD Scholarship Grant, his research focus is on the “Advanced Materials for Additive Manufacturing”. As a World Engineering Day - Young Engineer’s 2020 GEF-UNESCO-WEFO Sustainability Award holder, his sustainability-focused aspiration is to develop a novel biodegradable Material to replace timber, composite woods, and plastics in some applications.
Engr Mr Essien’s area of specialisation covers Advanced Materials Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, Composite Materials and Products Design. As a member of the Mineral Processing Research Group, Federal University of Technology Minna, he has gain numerous experiences working with a research team in collaborative and on individual researches.
