Dr Omotayo O. Erejuwa obtained his BSc degree in Pharmacology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and his PhD degree, also in Pharmacology, from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Pharmacology, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia.
Dr Erejuwa is currently a Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Faculty of Clinical Medicine, Ebonyi State University, Nigeria. His research areas include free radicals and oxidative stress, diabetes mellitus, obesity, gut microbiota as well as complementary medicine especially honey.
Dr Erejuwa is a Lead Author of several peer-reviewed articles published in international and high impact journals. He has also Authored 2 book chapters and delivered many presentations at key national and international conferences. He is a regular Reviewer for several high impact factors and international journals.
Dr Erejuwa was awarded a Travel grant in 2009 by the Diabetes and Nutrition Study Group (DNSG) of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and Young Investigator Support in 2011 by Society for Free Radical Research-Europe. He is a Member of the Society for Experimental Biology of Nigeria (NISEB).
His research interests are metabolic disorders; Insulin resistance; Pancreatic beta-cell function; Antioxidants and Alternative medicine.
