Dr Raymond Emekako is Acting Manager of the Directorate for Faculty Teaching & Learning Support (FT&LS) at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at North-West University. As a Senior Developer, amongst other functions on professional development and awards recognition for teaching excellence for academic staff, he coordinates the faculty representatives with the aim of generating grounded data used for providing support into their faculties for academic staff and students.
Dr Emekako is continually interested in scholarship engagements in the practice of Academic Development and teaching and learning improvement in Basic and Higher Education (HE) in South Africa (SA) - in addressing organizational and student success and the transformation agenda of HE SA. In addition, researching the student's voice is now important thereby bringing closer the work of student and academic staff support at CTL.
His research interests, on a general note, lies in learner discipline, motivation for learner performance and leadership, professional development, teaching and learning, technology education, and faculty teams methodology for faculty advising and support. Dr Emekako is also a Member of the Institute for Information Technology Professionals South Africa (ITTPSA), the South African Education Research Association (SAERA), and Microsoft.
