Prof Lahcen El Youssfi is an Agronomy Engineer and an Agro-Environment Researcher. He is a Professor of Agro-Environment and Natural Resources Management at the Superior School of Technology of Khenifra (EST Khenifra), Sultan Moulay Slimane University, Morocco. Prof El Youssfi is also Coordinator of the rural development training program and Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering and Agro-Biotech.
He worked as Technical Coordinator of a project for the implementation of drip irrigation systems and the replacement of traditional irrigation systems in the South of Morocco, for five years. This project aimed to save more than 20% of water use under semi-arid climate conditions. The research that Prof El Youssfi conducted in the context of an international project: Sustainable water use securing food production in dry areas of the Mediterranean region (SWUP-MED), combined activities related to food security, integrated water management and climatic change prevention.
His fields of expertise are Agronomy Engineering and Agro-environment.
Prof El Youssfi has been a Member of the Global Young Academy of Science and Young Affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences since 2017. He is also interested in developing social entrepreneurship with students and young leaders.
