Brief Biography (English)

Dr Desalegn Edossa is a water resources engineer with extensive experience and skills in teaching and research. He served Haramaya University (Ethiopia) and Central University of Technology (South Africa) as a fulltime academic staff. His responsibilities included, but not limited to teaching courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, doing research in water resources engineering, and administrative/committee assignments. As a researcher, Dr Edossa's key responsibilities included, but not limited to, conducting research within the research niche area of hydro-informatics with emphasis on Water Resources Management, developing research project proposals for external funding, engaging actively in writing papers for publication in accredited scientific journals, and supervision of postgraduate students. He supervised MSc and PhD theses of more than 18 students to completion. Dr Edossa’s primary research interest is drought analysis and forecasting for agricultural water management. Findings of his research projects have been published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented in several national and international conferences.
