Brief Biography (English)

 Prof Norman Duncan holds a professorship in Psychology, is the former Dean of Humanities at the University of Pretoria. On 1 August 2014, he assumed the position of Vice-Principal/DVC Academic at the University of Pretoria. He obtained his qualifications in Psychology from the University of the Western Cape and the Université Paul Valérie (Montpellier III, France). His research and publications are primarily in the fields of racism and community psychology. He has co-edited a range of volumes, including ‘Race’, Racism, Knowledge Production and Psychology in South Africa (Nova Science Publications, 2001), and Developmental Psychology (Juta/UCT Press, 2009). He currently serves as one of the lead researchers on the Apartheid Archives Research Project, a cross-disciplinary, cross-national study of the enduring effects of apartheid-era racism on people’s lives currently.
