Dr Tshepo Dipheko completed his BSc in Chemistry and Mathematics in 2012, followed by his BSc Honours in 2013 and MSc in Chemistry in 2016, at the North-West University, South Africa. He went on to pursue his PhD studies at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in collaboration with the Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Science. He successfully completed his PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2023. His doctoral research was centred around the synthesis of different oxygenated hydrocarbons through direct-ethanol conversion using supported transition metal sulfide catalysts, specifically (K)(Co, Ni, Fe)MoS2-based catalysts. His understanding of chemical processes within the field of catalysis research is extensive and meticulous.
He is currently working on CO/CO2 Hydrogenation and Related Energy Processes, Ammonia (NH3) Decomposition, and Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) studies for his postdoctoral research. He has a knack for effectively explaining chemical concepts to a wide range of people. Displayed a strong aptitude for effectively carrying out experiments and process protocols, prioritising safety and environmental sustainability.
