Brief Biography (English)

Anthony Chima Diala is an associate professor of law and foundation director of the Centre for Legal Integration in Africa at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Prior to embracing academia, He worked in the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, and non-profit organisations in Nigeria and Uganda. He was managing editor of the Journal of Comparative Law in Africa, chair of the Postdoctoral Research Fellows’ Association at the University of Cape Town (UCT), and chair of the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law at Madonna University, Nigeria. His interdisciplinary publications have been aided by research grants from Europe, North America and South Africa. Diala research interest include research legal pluralism, law and development, African customary law, human rights, and comparative constitutionalism.
