Brief Biography (English)

Dr Nelesh Dhanpat is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Johannesburg in the College of Business and Economics. He currently serves as Deputy Head in the Department of Industrial Psychology and People Management and leads the Human Resource Management Programme, based in the School of Management. He leads a team of 14 HR academics. As an academic, he possesses solid Higher Education experience within Private and Public Tertiary Education. Nelesh has filled various academic roles. He currently lectures Advanced Human Resource Management and People Strategy. He has supervised Masters and Honours students to completion. He has led the recurricualtion process of the new Advanced Diploma to be implemented in 2018 and is involved in various large scale projects surrounding recurriculation, teaching and learning. He is actively involved in other areas of recurriculation, qualification design and curriculum design and development.

Dr Dhanpat is an external examiner for various South African universities and reviewer for local and international journals and conferences. He is a member of the Human Resources Universities Forum (part of the SABPP) and has significantly contributed to issues and matters relating to the teaching and learning of Human Resource Management (HRM) at South African Universities and the development of new curricula within the field of Human Resource Management (HRM). He has presented at international conferences and has published articles in popular scholarly journals. Dr Dhanpat is also a member of two editorial boards at Scopus-indexed journals - Assistant Editor – South African Journal of Human Resource Management and Section Editor – South African Journal of Industrial Psychology. Dr Dhanpat holds a PhDin  Human Resource Management from University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
