Roopam Dey is an engineer with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. He develops medical devices, orthopedic implants, and assists clinicians when it comes to research and development. Roopam is passionate about nurturing prospective postgraduate students and guiding biomedical start-ups in conducting clinical research. He has experience of working in multiple countries like France, India, and South Africa for academic institutions in various capacities. During his student days, Roopam has been the recipient of multiple prestigious national and international awards. Currently, he is working towards establishing industry and academic partnerships and publishing his research in reputed journals. When he is not writing manuscripts or writing grant applications, he loves spending time with close friends, traveling to new countries, or watching new and rewatching old movies. He is Postdoctoral Researcher in the Division of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cape Town (UCT).
