Dr. Gabriel Adewunmi Dedeke is a Reader/Associate Prof of Eco-Physiology at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria. His university teaching and research career have spanned a period of 23 years. Gabriel's research interests and publications are focused on animal ecological and physiological interactions with their environment; animal biomarker response to environmental perturbation and stress. His current studies include physiological implications of night light on animals; the physiological impact of a glyphosate-based herbicide on animals; abattoir effluents and environmental pollution. He has supervised over 100 undergraduate and 24 postgraduate projects including as the Field Supervisor for a Master's Thesis on Review of Wildlife Trade and Compliance to the CITES Convention in Nigeria at Universidad Internacional De Andalucia, Spain (2016). He was a major contributor to the development of the postgraduate programme in Animal Ecology and Environmental Biology (FUNAAB). Gabriel is a reviewer for learned journals; member of Society of Toxicology and Chemistry(SETAC), Society for Conservation Biology, Zoological Society of Nigeria, Science Association of Nigeria. Also he is a member of Council, Science Association of Nigeria (2014-2016); member of Council, SETAC Africa (2020-2021); FUNAAB Organic Agriculture Group; and Eco-Physiology and Biodiversity Research Cluster. He is currently the Deputy Dean of the College of Biosciences, FUNAAB. Gabriel earned his Ph.D. Zoology(2009) from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye; MSc Animal Science (Reproductive Physiology)(1995) - the University of Ibadan and BSc Zoology (1992) -Ogun State University and was the best graduating student from the Department of Biological Sciences for that year.
