Prof Simeon Davies is presently Head of the Sport Management Department at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and was Acting Head of School Sport, Events, Tourism, and Hospitality Management in the Faculty of Business & Management Sciences. He was previously HoD of Human Movement Science at the University of Zululand. Prof. Davies is particularly interested in research concerning sports/exercise science in applied situations, along with ergonomics/human factors, as well as research ethics, resulting in sixty-one peer-reviewed publications and ninety-one presentations at conferences. He acts as a reviewer for seven peer journals, as well as being a member of an editorial board for the Journal Performance Enhancement and Health. Prof Davies is an Academic Advisor to the Minister for Sport and Recreation South Africa (SRSA), and a Special Task Team member for the development and introduction of the Sport Coaching Degree with the Council of Higher Education (CHE) South Africa and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Sport and Society Research Network (international sports research organization). Prof Davies played volleyballat International level representing England and Great Britain and presently enjoys trail running, fishing, and golf.
