Dr. Crespo's work always involves agriculture and climate, often modelling tools, and sometimes delves into vulnerability, sustainability, or communication challenges for the benefit of farming communities in Africa. He is applying and continuing to develop skills in multiple research projects, for the improvement of global agricultural modeling (e.g with AgMIP), for a better understanding of climate impacts on the Agricultural sector with The International Fund for Agricultural Development or to enhance adaptation capacity in developing and developed countries (e.g. with FAO). Through the last 10 years, he has developed successful collaborations with national (e.g. SA Water Resource Commission, SA Agricultural Research Council), regional (e.g. FANRPAN, ICRISAT) and international (e.g. IDRC, CSIRO, FAO) organisations, with almost exclusive research focus on African countries and most of the time southern Africa.
