Dr Nicoleen Coetzee has been a registered Research Psychologist with the HPCSA since 1998. She has held her current position as Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychology at the University of Pretoria (UP) since 2015. Dr Coetzee started Lecturing in 2001 at what was then known as MEDUNSA. Prior to joining UP in 2010, she also Lectured at the University of Johannesburg.
She has Delivered 16 Coursework Master's Dissertations, one Academic Master's Dissertation and two Doctoral Theses thus far. So far Dr Coetzee has Published 14 Articles and one Book Chapter. Her Research mainly focuses on the psychophysiological well-being of adults and adolescents. This includes investigating what happens psychophysiologically to individuals in the absence of well-being.
As a result of her Research, she is often involved with multi-disciplinary research, in particular the science of physiology. At present, she is a Member of the International Positive Psychology Association and the Physiology Society of Southern Africa.
