Prof Natsayi Chiwaye is a chemical engineer with excellent skills in research and development. She has experience in optimising energy systems, chemical process design and optimisation. She recently completed a research project whose focus was on developing mathematical models for automated process design and optimisation for post-combustion carbon capture from coal-fired power plants for sustainable energy generation to mitigate climate change. The PhD project also involved carrying out techno-economic feasibility studies and energy analysis -determining LCOE. She has experience in membrane system design. She has hands-on experience working in catalysis, organometallics and materials academic laboratory synthesising and characterising supported heterogeneous catalysts by XRD, TEM, TGA, TPR etc. Experience testing the catalysts and analysing the mixed products formed by gas chromatography.
