Brief Biography (English)

Dr Tinashe Chikowore is currently a Wellcome Trust International training fellow and a researcher at the University of the Witwatersrand (2019-22). Currently utilising polygenic risks scores and  variance heterogeneity approaches to characterise gene and lifestyle interactions for obesity in African populations. He is an active member of the H3Africa CVD working group and engaged in international collaborations which include the Genetic Investigation of ANthropometric Traits (GIANT) consortium and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Precision Medicine Initiative. He is a topical associate editor for Frontiers in Genetics where he is contributing to the showcasing of genetic research in underrepresented populations such as Africa.
