Brief Biography (English) Dr Dathan Byonanebye is a lecturer in the Department of Community Health and Behavioural Sciences, Makerere University. He is a Medical doctor with double specialist training in Internal Medicine (Makerere University) and Public Health (University of Manchester). He is a Fellow of the East, Central, and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ECSACoP). Dathan obtained his PhD (Medicine) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. His PhD focused on cardiovascular risk in people living with HIV/AIDS who are treated with contemporary antiretroviral therapy. His research interests include the intersection between infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Prior research has been on digital health interventions to optimize TB, the Integration of NCD in HIV care, and Public Health interventions to optimize NCD care.

Il est médecin et a suivi une double formation spécialisée en médecine interne (Université de Makerere) et en santé publique (Université de Manchester). Il est membre de l'East, Central, and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ECSACoP). Actuellement, il est candidat au doctorat (médecine) à l'Université de New South Wales (UNSW), à Sydney. Ses recherches portent sur les maladies non transmissibles (MNT) et la santé publique numérique. Son doctorat porte sur le risque cardiovasculaire chez les personnes vivant avec le VIH/sida et traitées par des antirétroviraux contemporains. Ses recherches antérieures ont porté sur les interventions de santé numérique pour optimiser la tuberculose, l'intégration des MNT dans les soins du VIH et les interventions de santé publique pour optimiser les soins des MNT.
