Brief Biography (English)

Prof Stephanie Gail Burton is Vice-Principal: Research and Postgraduate Education at the University of Pretoria.

She is the previous Director: Postgraduate Studies at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and also Led the Biocatalysis and Technical Biology Research Group at CPUT.

Previous to this she was Professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. Prof Burton was Awarded the South African Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SASBMB) Gold Medal in 2010.

She has served as the Vice-Chairperson of The National Science and Technology Forum and is a Fellow at the Royal Society of South Africa.
