Boyo

Professor (Mrs) Omotunde Boyo was born on the 11th December 1963 at Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria Prof.  Adenike Omotunde Boyo had her Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics specializing in Geophysics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1986 and had her Master of Science in Applied Physics ( Solar Energy ) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1988. She subsequently attended the
Department of Physics, University of Ilorin, Kwara state Nigeria, where she bagged her PhD in Physics in 2004.
Prof.  Adenike Boyo joined Lagos State University as an Assistant Lecturer in 1990 and became an Associate Professor in 2008 and a professor of physics in 2011.
She is the first pronounced professor of physics and first female physics in the Department of physics Lagos state university. She was seconded to Lagos state Ministry of Science and Technology as a Director of Science and Technology in Policy, Progammes, and Promotion from 2005 to 2007 although the two years spent as sabbatical and leave of absence. She was a Consultant to the same Ministry from 2007 to 2010.
Prof (Mrs) Adenike Boyo returned to the university and was appointed the Head of Department of Physics from 2007 to 2009, at the same time the Deputy Director of Lagos State University Foundation Programme from 2008 to 2012.
Recently, Prof (Mrs) Adenike Boyo did her sabbatical leave at the Department of Physics, Covenant University Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria 2014. She is the Assistant Director, Endowments and Grants unit of the Lagos state university, Directorate of Advancement from 2016 till Date. Presently, she is the Dean, Faculty of Science Lagos State University.
Prof.(Mrs) Adenike Boyo has authored and co-authored over 60 scientific papers, including more than 50 Journal articles. Prof.(Mrs) Adenike Boyo is the Nigerian Sole Representative of African Network for Solar Energy Member ( ANSOLE), member of International Solar Energy Society, Solar Energy Society of Nigeria, Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of Physics and Third World Organization for Women in Science. She is currently the Ex-officio of Material Science and Technology of Nigeria (MSN) Society and Vice-chairman for MSN Lagos State Chapter. She has served as Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Society Advisory Board and Strategic Planning Committee member in the society. She was the Local Organizing Chairman of Material Science and Technology conference (NIMANCON 2014) held at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria in 2014. Also, chairman, Local organizing committee, Faculty of Science conference in 2018,
Prof. (Mrs) Adenike Boyo has won many awards and attended conferences, workshops, exhibitions, technical meetings in many countries which include the USA, UK, Canada, Singapore, Turkey, Austria, Ethiopia, and South Africa. Prof. (Mrs) Adenike Boyo is married. She was ordained as Assistant Pastor in The Redeemed Christian Church of God in 2011 and currently the Parish Pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (Amen Assembly parish) in Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria from 2013 to Date.
