Brief Biography (English)
Dr Wendy Black is currently the Curator of Archaeology at Iziko Museums of South Africa. Her research has focused on the population history and bioarchaeology of the indigenous hunter-gatherer people of southern Africa, the Khoisan.
More broadly, Dr Black's interests relate to population dynamics and archaeogenetics. In the last few years she has become involved with indigenous rights and transformation issues as they relate to human remains collections at museums, and group representations within South African institutions.
Dr Black also participates in exhibition development and supervises postgrad students.
