Dr Marie Bissong hails from Mbinjong Village of Manyu Division, in the Southwest Region of Cameroon. She obtained her ordinary level and advanced level from GHS Mamfe and further acquired her higher certificates from the University of Buea, Cameroon.
Currently, she is a Lecturer and Researcher in Microbiology at the University of Bamenda in Cameroon. Her research interests are interdisciplinary cover areas such as molecular biology, epidemiology of infectious diseases, food security, antimicrobial resistance, etc.
Dr Bissong has gained expertise in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), antimicrobial resistance and bacteriophage technologies. She has an aptitude for knowledge evidenced by her elaborate pre- and post-doctoral training in the USA, South Africa, Uganda, Malawi and Cameroon.
