Arvin Bhana is a Chief Specialist Scientist in the Health Systems Research Unit at the South African Medical Research Council and an Honorary Associate Professor at the Centre for Rural Health in the College of Health Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal. He has a PhD in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the US, and is a registered Clinical Psychologist in South Africa. He has an established record of grantsmanship and collaborative research that is focused on strengthening mental health systems in low- and middle-income countries.
