Professor Elfadil Elfadl Babiker is a Professor in Food Quality in Department of Food Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, University of Khartoum, Sudan. The areas of teaching and specialist research are the nutritional assessment of conventional and non-traditional foods and the quality (safety) assessment of fresh and cooked foods. He graduated from the University of Khartoum with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Food Science and a Master's in Food Science. He obtained a PhD in genetic engineering (the chemical and genetic modification of allergen proteins) in 1999 from Yamaguchi University, Japan. He published more than 275 scientific papers in international journals and two books. He has been awarded a gold medal as a best researcher from graduate school of Tottori University, Japan and fellowship scholarship from the Japanese Community for the Promotion of Science.
