Brief Biography (English)

Dr Idris Ayodeji Azeez is a native of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. His first degree and Masters were accomplished at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, while he bagged his PhD (Neuroscience) from the University of Verona, Italy. He is a Faculty member of the Veterinary Anatomy Department, University of Jos, Nigeria. His research interests include vertebrate neuroanatomy, environmental neurotoxicology, extracellular matrix remodeling, and synaptic biology and plasticity.

Dr Azeez has expertise in histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, microstereology, ELISA, and Western blot. He is a member of the following learned/professional societies; Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Society of Neuroscientists of Africa (SONA), Nigerian Society for Neuroscience (NSN), Italian Society for Neuroscience (SINS), Federation of European Neuroscience Society (FENS), Italian Group for the Study of Neuromorphology (GISN), International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN), Society for Experimental Biology of Nigeria (NISEB), International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS), and he is Registered Veterinarian with Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN); Reg. No 5868.
