Dr Thomas Ayorinde is a researcher driven by the need to develop sustainable solutions in agricultural and bioresource engineering. His journey began with a strong foundation in post-harvest technology and fiber crop processing, which resulted in designing an improved tractor-mounted kenaf harvester. Currently, he is a postdoctoral fellow at Tshwane University of Technology, focusing on the research of biomaterials for clean and sustainable energy.
Over the years, he has been privileged to receive recognition for my work, including a University Award in Research and an Academic and Research Excellence Award for leading a team that transformed municipal solid waste into bioresources. He contributed to nationally funded projects, published in international journals, and actively mentored young researchers. Dr Ayorinde is a member of The Nigeria Institute of Agricultural Engineers, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria. His Application as a member of the Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineers is currently under review. His goal is to continue pushing the boundaries of sustainable energy innovation, particularly in ways that are relevant and impactful for Africa and beyond.
