Dr Augustine Omoniyi Ayeni holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering. He is Registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (SAIchE/IChemE), South Africa. Dr Ayeni has close to 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and community service at universities and related research institutes (in Nigeria, India, South Africa, the Netherlands, Sweden).
He obtained awards and scholarships such as the Chief S.L. Edu Research Grant (2008) sponsored by Chevron Nigeria in association with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, Lekki, Ajah Lagos. Dr Ayeni was also awarded a Research and Advanced Training Fellowship in 2009 by The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) which gave him a research home at the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Environmental Biotechnology and Genomics Division, Nagpur, India from August 2010 - August 2011. He had his postdoctoral fellowship experience at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa (2015-2017). In 2008 Dr Ayeni was selected as a Task Team Member of the Science Plan (Sustainable Energy), International Science Council - Regional Office for Africa (ICSU-ROA) based in Pretoria, South Africa.
His Research interests include, but are not limited to, water and wastewater treatment, energy/bioenergy, biochemical/bioprocess engineering, pollution monitoring and control, fuels as well as chemicals from solid and liquid wastes. Dr Ayeni has Published widely having over 50 research publications to his credit.
