Brief Biography (English)

Dr Femi Emmanuel Awosanmi is a Lecturer/Scientist with a specialisation in Seed Technology and a background in Agronomy and Extension Services. For over a period of 17 years, his research interests entail seed production potential, seed quality development, physiological maturity and storage potential of crops such as maize, okra, Africa yam bean, cowpea, etc., with reference to climate change. Having previously worked as an Agricultural Extension Officer, he has participated in and facilitated many training courses for farmers, seed analysts and local seed business groups in Nigeria. He served as a resource person in training Seed Analysts from the National Agricultural Seeds Council in 2008; AGRA Training course on Maize Hybrid Seed Production, Processing and Management in 2013; CORAF/WECARD (West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development)-sponsored Training of seed officers (from 8 WCA countries- Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal) on the Production of High Quality Maize Seeds in 2015; and served as an Assistant to the Consultant in training youths on Local Seed Business, organized by Catholic Relief Services, Abuja in 2017. Dr Awosanmi  supervised 2 postgraduate and 11 undergraduate research theses on Seed Science and Technology.
