Dr Oluyemi Olatunji Awolusi Oluyemi has PhD in Biotechnology and an MSc in Bioinformatics. He is a Researcher at the University of Lincoln, in the United Kingdom. He previously worked as a postdoctoral research fellow, and Research Associate at the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology, Durban University of Technology. He has been part of various projects including; SARS-CoV-2 virus circulation monitoring using wastewater-based epidemiology, troubleshooting nutrient-removal breakdown in different full-scale biological wastewater treatment plants across South Africa, the fate of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and genes in wastewater treatment systems, and their impact on the receiving environments, implementation of a two-stage nitritation-anammox process for improved ammonia removal from wastewater. He has presented his work at different conference platforms (national and international) and published in accredited journals.
